In September, I was named to the Board of Trustees for Chinquapin Preparatory School in Houston (www.chinquapin.org). This unique college-preparatory non-profit private school serves students in grades six through twelve, who come primarily from low-income families. In return for their access to an excellent, rigorous education, the students work extra hours around the school and in community service. The school’s motto, “Quid pro quo” – something for something – reflects this mission of creating responsible, educated adults who can be role models in their communities.
It’s an honor to serve this worthy cause. So why do I serve? Because I believe in giving back. It’s not “someone else’s job”. It’s everyone’s job. Maybe my small efforts won’t save the world, but they may help one group of young adults have a better opportunity, and they in turn may help others, and so forth.
What’s your facet of giving? It may be your expertise, your time, your financial resources, or simply your presence. Whatever you choose, we at Granville Group support your efforts and thank you for making a difference.
May you be blessed with peace, love, and happiness this holiday season.
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Merry Christmas!
